Female Issues at a glance

On my journey as the AMRIA brand owner, besides my personal development as an independent business woman, I focus on meeting my female customers, getting to know them a little more. To me, this is a real bonus of being an industry professional. Every client is a world in herself, a woman with a story. In the new corner "Female issues at a glance”, I will turn a spotlight on different clients in which they can tell about themselves.

Today, I am hosting Ofra Emuna.

My name is Ofra Emuna, I am 49 years old and a mother of three children aged 23, 21 and 15. I live in Kibbutz Dvir.

Work

I am a mathematics teacher, who has a bachelor’s degree in teaching and a master's degree in education systems management. For 26 years, I worked as a math teacher, first in elementary school and then in high school. In recent years, alongside my work as a teacher, I have begun to work in the training department of the Ministry of Education. In the past year, I have guided and coordinated the fields of teaching and training in the Southern District.

Independence, Empowering Your Family

For many years, family and children were my first priority. I gave up professional progress, in order to be at home with my children. My husband has served in the army for most of his professional years, and due to his job has hardly been present at home. I believe that at least one of the parents should be present, and in the division between us, that was me. At the same time, I did not give up on studying and education, I studied for a master's degree, invested myself in interior design studies, and participated in various courses.

Today, with the children grown up and me being more available, I allow myself to spend more time at work and enjoy my leisure time.

What insights did you gain with age?

In my opinion, it is very important that a woman will put herself first and know how to invest in herself - not only when it comes to fashion and culture, enrichment and leisure. In the end, this investment returns to both children and family. Once a woman feels good about herself, everyone benefits from that. Another important thing is to invest in your relationship. At the end of the day, the kids will leave the house, and it is important to manage your partnership well.

And maybe the most important, and most banal insight: to take life easily, to say thank you for what is there.

Dealing with difficulties

I'm very decisive. In most cases, I will know what is good for me and I do not hesitate to make decisions. I believe that if one door closes, there’s always another one that will open. If something doesn’t work out, it is because something better is waiting around the corner. In general, be thankful you everything good!

Fashion and shopping?

I really like fashion. It's a fun and liberating thing for me, especially when enjoyed together with a girlfriend or my oldest daughter. I don’t enjoy all the "season’s end" sales too much, but prefer to invest in a quality garment that will last for a long time. I shop according to my true needs and have specific stores that I buy from again and again.

There are Israeli designers that I follow and buy from them. According to my taste, in most cases, it is more appropriate to invest in Israeli design, and most certainly so when the designers manufacture in the country. It is more expensive, but high-quality and unique. Even when I go abroad, I will look for local designs, and avoid purchasing at chain stores.

Why did you purchase AMRIA shoes?

I think their classic design is very beautiful and fits my style. I particularly love the shapes, the unique touches and the comfort. I started with one pair, and when I realized how comfortable they were (even when I worked at school and stood for many hours on my feet), I purchased more.
